Anger. One of most volatile emotions one feels. To some, it happens, but it is not an emotion that takes them over.It could be some mild irritation. It is something they can get under control.

For other people, it can cause rage and an intense fury. When that does happen, it quickly loses control and can turn destructive. This leads to other problems at work, in your personal relationships, and in your general quality of life.

A person is at the mercy of this emotion and its unpredictableness if they let it get out of control.

The goal of anger management counseling is to reduce the emotional feelings the physical arousal that anger causes.

With my experience in anger management San Diego I would like to explore a couple of ways to control this emotion.

First thing you need to do is relax.  Some relaxation tools are deep breathing.  You can also you calming images.Another technique you can use is to repeat some calming words.

Don't just use these methods for when you are angry.Try to practice it everyday if you know that anger is an issue in your life.

Second you have to change the way you think.Simply put, the anger may cause you to talk loudly, swear, and cause you to express yourself colorfully. These just express your inner thoughts. What you are going to have to do is change the angry irrational thoughts into more reasonable rational ones.

Instead of telling yourself how terrible or an injustice something is, try telling yourself it is not the end of the world.

Third, communication is something you have to try to do better.  When a person gets angry or in a heated discussion, that is when communication breaks down.Rather than thinking before speaking, their emotions let them say whatever.

Slow down and think about how best to communicate.

Finally, try changing your environment.when we find ourselves angry or frustrated, often times, just stopping and going to another place can change our moods.

Changing your environment might just be enough to make your emotions calm and control your anger.

Although not the final word, these bits of advice can help you start to control your anger.  If you find it does not, you will want to go get some professional help maybe with a family therapist San Diego.

How to fight Depression

Depression is one of the strongest human emotions. If you leave this emotion untreated, those suffering from it severly could be lead to something more serious.

Everybody feels unhappy at times. That is normal. But clinical depression goes beyond that.  It is a disease.  But it is treatable.

I would like to offer some advice and tips that I have gained from my experience as a therapist in San Diego.

So when does depression become clinical depression?

Firstly, a person might start to feel like everything is hopeless and sad. When a person feels as if there is no point to anything.Or life isn't worth living. Which could lead to feelings or thoughts of suicide.

This can last for 2 weeks or more. When your depression is lasting that long, that is when you are moving to the state of clinical depression.

And when you hit that tipping point, you need to seek out a therapist.  Do not leave your condition untreated when it hits that point.Believe me, from my experience as a depression counselor I know.

So once you are at that point, you have to do certain things. Because chemistry in your brain or imbalances in your body can cause depression, you might have to go the medical route to treat it.You would use antidrepessant drugs to treat it.

Of course as a counselor, I prefer to treat it through depression counseling.A counselor helps a person start to get to the root of their depression and come to grips with it.

They can also try other forms of therapy like cognitive behavior therapy which addresses how you think. The objective is to confront those negative thoughts and turn them around to a positive.

A therapist can also help you use relaxation techniques. If stress is the cause of depression, a good way to combat that form of stress is through relaxation.

Most of all a depression counselor will be the most effective person to find out what is causing the depression.

They can find out if it is caused by some circumstance recently, such as a loss in the family.  They can find out if it is caused by something that happened in the past.Or they can look to see if it is something that is caused by your body.  Whether it is some physiological change.

Depression is a condition that is treatable. But when the cause is not known, there is no way to treat it.This where finding someone that is a good counselor or therapist will help tremendously.
