As people we have been given emotions. We have emotions that are positive. But we also experience emotions that are negative. In this article, let us take a closer look at some emotions that can become negative.

Why they are two emotions we need to take a closer look at is because these emotions are ones that may require professional help.We all have gone through joys.We all have gone through emotions such as sadness. We have those times when anger can be experienced by us as well.  But there are times that emotions can get the best of us.  This is speaking from experience being a family therapist San Diego.

First lets examine the emotion of anger. This is a very dangerous emotion. All people have had the experience of this emotion. But for some people it sometimes gets the best of them.  When I say get the best of them I mean they get out of control.  They sometimes take that anger and express it with violence. That is why it is so dangerous.  I have seen it go too far too many times doing anger management counseling. That is the moment when it must be handled professionally.  Because it can cause damage to other people.

The other emotion is depression.  Doing depression counselor has allowed me to see how this emotion can be dangerous as well. Most of the times this emotion won't hurt people in a direct way.But this is one of those emotions that can cause harm to one's self.  There are many causes.  Sometimes it is a chemical imbalance. Those are the times when medicine will be the only form of treatment.  Or it can be an event that causes the depression.Either situation, when there is someone who experiences it, they could need some help.

As you can plainly tell these emotions need to be kept in check.  Whether it is anger or depression they both can cause serious damage.Either to people who are close to you or even yourself.  So if you see somebody experiencing these emotions excessively, they may need counseling. It is going to be the best for everyone.

Emotional Issues That Need to Be Addressed

One of the unique things we experience as humans are emotions. Emotions are a very strong part that makes us human.Emotions that we experience like joy, love, anger or even pain. are very strong feelings we experience. But a lot of times it is due to the fact that we can get so emotional that it leads us into trouble.

I would like to address a couple of strong emotions that sometimes needs professional help.  They are anger and depression.  Two seemingly different types of emotions but both can lead to major problems.  I have seen it first hand as a therapist San Diego.

I say it is a big problem, both of them, because either one can lead to violence.  In the case of anger it can lead to violence against others. In problems like depression, the violence can end up being directed toward one's self.

When you are referring to things like anger, it is a very emotionally charged situation. As I said earlier, it is an emotion that has to be taken control of.Because as we are well aware of, a few people, when angry, can do some bad things.  It doesn't have to be physical, it can also be emotional.  If that is the case you need to address it through anger management San Diego.

Now in reference to depression, it is a dangerous situation in and of itself. It is very dangerous because a lot of times you might not even be aware of it.In others words you could possibly not even know when someone you love is going through depression. When something like that happens, horrible things can come about that weren't expected.Problems like suicide.  I have seen it happen to often as a depression counselor.

If you sense you are in a state of depression, treat it immediately.  Because before you know it, it can go too far.  Your loved ones may not even notice.  When that happens it can be too late.So treat it early and quickly. It can be fixed.

As you see emotions can be good.  But they also can cause problems.By learning how to address and tackle the problems emotions can be very beneficial. It matters not how you take care of it, either you or somebody else addresses it, but be sure to take care of it.

How to fight Depression

Depression is one of the strongest human emotions. If you leave this emotion untreated, those suffering from it severly could be lead to something more serious.

Everybody feels unhappy at times. That is normal. But clinical depression goes beyond that.  It is a disease.  But it is treatable.

I would like to offer some advice and tips that I have gained from my experience as a therapist in San Diego.

So when does depression become clinical depression?

Firstly, a person might start to feel like everything is hopeless and sad. When a person feels as if there is no point to anything.Or life isn't worth living. Which could lead to feelings or thoughts of suicide.

This can last for 2 weeks or more. When your depression is lasting that long, that is when you are moving to the state of clinical depression.

And when you hit that tipping point, you need to seek out a therapist.  Do not leave your condition untreated when it hits that point.Believe me, from my experience as a depression counselor I know.

So once you are at that point, you have to do certain things. Because chemistry in your brain or imbalances in your body can cause depression, you might have to go the medical route to treat it.You would use antidrepessant drugs to treat it.

Of course as a counselor, I prefer to treat it through depression counseling.A counselor helps a person start to get to the root of their depression and come to grips with it.

They can also try other forms of therapy like cognitive behavior therapy which addresses how you think. The objective is to confront those negative thoughts and turn them around to a positive.

A therapist can also help you use relaxation techniques. If stress is the cause of depression, a good way to combat that form of stress is through relaxation.

Most of all a depression counselor will be the most effective person to find out what is causing the depression.

They can find out if it is caused by some circumstance recently, such as a loss in the family.  They can find out if it is caused by something that happened in the past.Or they can look to see if it is something that is caused by your body.  Whether it is some physiological change.

Depression is a condition that is treatable. But when the cause is not known, there is no way to treat it.This where finding someone that is a good counselor or therapist will help tremendously.
