Employer Health Insurance

Two thirds of the US population benefit from employer health insurance, but the amount of the uninsured is still  very high and the costs of individual insurance policies keep rising. Most of the time, employer health insurance packages represent a method to attract and keep valuable employees, and many companies work on such a basis and for this reason  offering flexible or extended packages which can be used at more diverse places even  in acupuncture clinic treatments or even covers vital medical accessories like blood pressure monitor, carpal tunnel recovery brace and so on depends on the details. Moreover, the benefits provided by an employer health insurance are less expensive than those purchased individually. Plus, the employer health insurance system is considered more stable than the independent one, although people use them both. Not everybody qualifies for health insurance from the very first day of work.

Usually, employer health insurance becomes active after a certain period of time, when the employee has a number of worked weekly hours and covers a part of the monthly contribution. Employer health insurance is widely used by large corporations, and it is less accessible to the small companies that don't have the financial power to pay the premiums for their employees. Many firms that lack insurance coverage often provide a larger wage income to compensate for the health coverage absence.

There's no doubt that the employer health insurance system is used by the majority of the population, but the private insurance market is also very active. In some cases, even when sponsored by the employer, the premium rates still remain high, and the employee cannot pay his/her share. Which is why the employee may choose not to enroll for employer health insurance and try a different approach to health insurance more adequate for a low income. There are many workers that have health insurance coverage through the spouse, which also seems like a good solution as compared to uninsured situations.

The last two years have seen a decline in wages, an increase of the monthly premium rates and thus the possibility to pay for the packages has gone lower too. It goes without saying that the higher the contribution, the lower the employee's chances of enrolling. In small firms the premium contribution is with 10% higher than in larger companies. In the individual market, health insurance has high costs too, though companies don't lack customers. A higher number of people would benefit from health insurance if the very employer health insurance system would drop the monthly rates making affordable plans for the average employee.
